Voice teachers are on the front line of vocal health in their studios every day. The triage component of the voice teacher’s job cannot be underestimated. This aspect often begins with the speaking voice and continues throughout each lesson. This workshop will focus on attuning ones ears to the signs of voice disorders; discuss the importance of developing a team approach and having in place your team members, which includes a laryngologist and speech language pathologist; clarifying the role of the voice teacher or singing voice specialist (SVS) and establishing the necessary steps in helping your singer return to vocal health.
